On October 2nd, 2025, PREDICTOS was honoured to represent its work as a speaker at the WIDERA Feedback to Policy Workshop in Brussels. Organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) in collaboration with the European Research Executive Agency (REA), the workshop provided a platform for Horizon Europe-funded projects to showcase their contributions to the European Research Area (ERA).
As part of the “Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence” component of the Horizon Europe WIDERA Work Programme, PREDICTOS was one of 10 projects selected to present its policy-relevant actions. This recognition highlights the growing impact of PREDICTOS on European research and innovation.
The workshop brought together 21 projects from two key components of WIDERA—”Reforming and Enhancing the European Research and Innovation System” and “Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence”—which were presented as inspiring examples of how research projects contribute to shaping policy in Europe.
PREDICTOS’ inclusion among these projects is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its team. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all PREDICTOS members for their contributions that made this recognition possible.
The workshop also addressed important topics such as the reform of the European Research Area, gender equality in research, sustainable careers, AI ethics, and knowledge valorisation. Key projects like FutuResilience, AeroStream, and SolarHub presented their findings, contributing to the shaping of future WIDERA policy decisions.
PREDICTOS extends its congratulations to all the participants—both on-site and online—whose contributions made the event a success. Special thanks go to the organisers for creating such an inspiring platform for knowledge exchange and reflection.
In addition, just days before the Brussels event, the Portuguese PREDICTOS team had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Silvia Panseri from the National Council of Research (CNR) in Faenza, Italy, to the CDRSP – Research Unit at the Polytechnic of Leiria on September 24th. This meeting allowed for valuable discussions on PREDICTOS’ ongoing work, as well as exploring challenges and opportunities to strengthen collaboration moving forward.
Rafaela Seabra from the Portuguese team shared her enthusiasm, stating, “The activities were crucial for knowledge exchange and sharing innovative approaches for treatments and biomedical technologies. It was also a great opportunity to interact with researchers at various stages of their careers, from early to senior researchers, and build meaningful networks that will further enrich future collaborations.”
The spirit of collaboration and the shared vision for advancing research and innovation continues to fuel PREDICTOS’ journey. Together, exchanging ideas, building partnerships, and moving forward with purpose is what drives the success of the project and ensures its ongoing impact.
